Always note when data was last updated. Our snapshots refresh every 15 minutes, but conditions can change rapidly during disruptions.
GateReady uses four status levels: Normal (under 15 min), Elevated (15-30 min), Severe (30-45 min), and Critical (45+ min). Use these to give readers context beyond raw numbers.
Quote individual airport waits alongside the national average for context. A 25-minute wait is unremarkable at ATL but notable at a smaller airport.
When multiple airports show Severe or Critical status simultaneously, it may indicate a systemic issue worth covering (staffing shortages, weather cascades, security incidents).
